The Story of Hutong

A Hutong is a small narrow street or alley, very common in Beijing. Many of these hutongs connect, forming neighborhoods with open courtyards.  It is here, that you find informal eating places passionately expressing the flavors of their culture, whether grilled over an open fire, served at a counter or shared at a celebratory table.  Through out Asia, each great city has hutongs with food preparations unique to its culture.  We bring you these distinctive flavors served on small plates so that you can explore and experience them for yourself.
